We need an exceptional Founding AI Engineer to lead the development of our generative code engine and push the limits of what AI can do for developers.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re a seasoned engineer with hands-on experience building or fine-tuning LLM-based systems.
  • You're fluent in C# and understand how to generate idiomatic, safe, and useful code.
  • You have strong opinions on code generation UX, model prompting, evaluation, and safety.
  • You want to build systems that developers trust, use daily, and fall in love with.
  • You thrive in early-stage environments where speed, ownership, and creativity matter.

Your responsibilities

  • Build Ivy’s generative engine for producing clean, structured C# code.
  • Design prompt chains, templates, and feedback loops to improve generation quality.
  • Integrate AI seamlessly into the developer experience—without magic or hallucinations.
  • Own evaluation: automatic tests, developer feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship production AI features.
  • Fine-tune and experiment with custom models and domain-specific optimisations.
  • Contribute to building a developer-first AI UX grounded in trust and control.
  • Help us recruit and mentor a world-class AI/ML team.

Our recruitment process

  1. After submitting your application, selected candidates will get an initial call from one of our founders.
  2. You are given a 30-minute take-home exercise designed to test your skills in the subject matter and AI-first mindset.
  3. We meet in person for interviews with our founders and key employees.
  4. If possible, join us for 2-5 days of paid trial work. This will benefit both parties and allow us to see how we get along.
